We are proud to announce that Wingate have been given the accolade of “Top 100 Adviser” by the FTAdviser publication, part of the Financial Times group. The award was given in a ceremony in London on 28th November, attended by our Managing Director, Ben Clarke and Corporate Director, Paul Weeks.

We placed 11th in a list of 100 of the top firms, and were one of the highest placed firms of Independent Financial Advisers and Chartered Financial Planners on the list.

FTAdviser worked in conjunction with a third party data analyst, to rank all the firms, based on a methodology which considered the following criteria (with different weightings):

  • The level of investment wealth looked after for clients
  • The value of new client assets introduced to the firm
  • The length of time the firm has been in business
  • The number of advisers employed
  • The retention of existing clients
  • The investment performance of the solutions delivered to our clients

This was the first time the award had not been judged purely on the size of the firm, and saw St James’ Place, a high-profile advice firm who provide a restricted financial offering, give way to smaller, independent advice firms.

On accepting the award, Ben Clarke said:

Wingate are delighted and proud to be included in the list. This recognition reflects the care and commitment that everyone in the business has to deliver the highest possible quality of advice and service. We welcome the broader criteria the FT use to assess firms, which we feel more fairly measures the attributes people value in the best financial advisers.
